In this tour, we will head to the Vaporia area, an upscale district of Syros with impressive architectural touches that bear witness to the glamorous past. Nearby there is a very interesting shipwreck to explore, only 5 minutes away. A great point for snorkeling & exploring the old submerge ship. Our GoPro waterproof camera could immortalize this unique experience. There is also an old, traditional lighthouse dated from 1824 in Nisos Didimi.
Boating south, we will pass by all the organized beaches of the island & after a while we will arrive to Saint Stefanos. A very beautiful and picturesque chapel in the area of Galissas built among the rocks. The chapel was built by a fisherman who was saved from the tentacles of a large Octopus after praying to the Saint to help him escape.
We will continue in the north part of Syros, where you will have the chance to see the protected area & beaches. They are famous for the crystal clear waters, the calm that still prevails & the secluded beaches that you can enjoy without too many people. Not only a rocky area, but also mountainous and sometimes very barren. Yet you’ll also see vineyards and olive groves. From northwest to southwest we will see the beaches of Grammata, Gria Spilia, Marmari, Lia, Avlaki, Aetos and Varvarousa. We may anchor in α beach of your preference to enjoy the view, snorkeling, swim & relax, while you can taste some of our local products and wine or soft drinks which are included. For the brave ones, there is a cliff point to dive from high rocks.
If the weather conditions are not favorable, for your safety & for a pleasant trip we have to avoid only ‘’Vaporia’’ & ’’ Shipwreck’’ and follow the rest of the route. In this case, the pick up point will be ‘’Kini’’, a picturesque fishing village and a famous tourist settlement for its succulent sea foods and fresh fish. Not only you can enjoy its magnificent sunsets with their incredible harmony of colors but also the fine view over the sea.
The recommending time frame is from 10:00 to 14:30 or 16:00 to 20:30.
